Option 22 The Change

Option 22 is a brilliant band composed of multi-talented artist. Their latest album, The Change, introduces listeners to a collection of songs that are not only a pleasure to listen to, but that contain important messages for us all! The album cover is calming and gives you a sense of the type of music that is on the album. One of the most interesting things about this album that really sets it apart from others, is it’s ability to entertain while still telling a story.

There is not one song on the album that won’t have you singing along and thinking about it’s message. The band is comprised of some very talented people. Lori McKinney is vocals and drums, Jordan Furrow is drums and guitar, Brandon Dunn is bass, keys and guitar, and Robert Blankenship is guitar, didgeridoo, shamisen, banjo, bass, and keys! With a band that talented, it’s no wonder The Change is such an inspiring album. The Mixtape

The MixtapeMixes are not that uncommon anymore, with the internet being a conduit for artist and DJ’s alike to celebrate their creative freedom. One mix in particular is making a scene on Vimeo and has already been chosen as a Staff Pick. This mix celebrates over 50 years of the cassette tape by combining classic music with some of the top hits of today’s time. It’s a brilliant combination that we think you will agree, works very well together.

The artist who were featured in this mix were talented, but think about it, the person or people behind making the mix have to be talented as well. To take songs that don’t sound like they would go together well and put them into one song and have it sound fantastic takes a lot of skill! So go ahead and enjoy one of the coolest mixes on the internet!

Didi Benami Gasoline

Didi Benami Gasoline New artist and their talent never ceases to amaze us. One new artist making an impression on the music industry is Didi Benami. She just recently released her new single, Gasoline. With inspiring and thought provoking lyrics this song is already making its way across the internet and onto the iPods of many. We are always excited when we find out about an artist who somehow slid under our radar, and Didi is no exception. The lyrics say you can’t fight fire with gasoline, how true. Lyrics are just as important as the voice in my opinion, yet Did has both, fantastic lyrics and a beautiful voice. Don’t miss out on getting her new single, we know we didn’t! For more information or to show your support pay a visit to Didi’s facebook, twitter, or website. Also don’t forget to buy the single which is available on both iTunes and Amazon!

Toast Pop Guy’s Favorites: Modern Black

Modern is a great look for anyone, and of course we all have our favorite things. It just so happens that I love modern things quite a bit. I like minimal and simplistic looks as well as items that contribute to the overall style of the modern look.

(1.) Sony Piiq Earbuds – Sony has developed a new line of earbuds by the name of Piiq that not only look great, have great sound, and offer neat functions not accompanied by most other earbuds, but they also have a wide variety of choices at a very affordable price. ($13 directly from Sony)

(2.) Blackberry Bold 9650 – I’m not necessarily suggesting that you go to your cell phone provider and switch your phone over for a Blackberry, you still have to have a phone that works for you and what you like (ex. keyboard, touch screen, camera, etc.), but do keep in mind that a good looking phone is half the battle most of the time. ($550 w/o contract)

(3.) Capsule Case Wallet – Capsule Case has been making a great alternative to the traditional wallet for quite some time now! Though I have trouble fitting cash in mine sometimes, it is perfect for credit and business cards. Keep looking classy and modern while saving the functions you need in a wallet. They offer many different colors in their line of modern wallets, but I like to keep it simple and so I went with a traditional black color. This wallet not only looks fantastic, but feels sleek and appropriately sized in your hands and pocket. ($15 varies by store)

(4.) Moleskine Sketchbook – If you’re like me, you love to sketch, but you hate carrying around a huge sketchbook with pages that smudge your wonderful works of art. Well, that’s where this little guy comes in handy. Moleskine makes my favorite line of books on the market, their paper is top of the line and does not smudge your work, especially when you use a sharpie pen (I love those!). They offer notebooks, planners, and many other types of books, as well as sizes, but you can’t go wrong with the medium sized Moleskine Sketchbook. ($15 varies by store)

Somebody That I Used To Know

By now I am sure that you have herd one, two, three, possibly more versions of this song than you can count. The question that is puzzling everyone’s mind is, which is the best? Somebody That I Used To Know is a song from Gotye’s new album, Making Mirrors. Walk Off The Earth has a widely popular cover of the song that has been featured on countless television shows, websites, and news articles. The video is nothing short of inspirational. Some big names, including Ingrid Michaelson, have even covered the song. Ok, this is a good song, but what about it makes it that special? My guess is the simple and relaxed tone that it conveys. Since we can’t decide which version is the best, we have chosen the top three and we will let you be the judge. Just click the artist you would like to hear sing it and fall in love with the song that has inspired millions!
