The world of jam and jelly has been turned upside down by one company that offers over fourteen varieties, including traditional favorites, and some not so traditional. Anarchy in a Jar is more than just a brilliant name, they make some of the worlds best tasting jams and jellies. They state that “Anarchy is freedom from food tyranny.”, and after tasting their products, I agree with them!
They sell small batch preserves from Brooklyn, NY, this is how they ensure the high quality of their product and exceptional flavors that no mass produced jam is going to be able to give you. They include an extra ingredient that no “big-box brand” has, that ingredient is love. It’s true, it even says so on their website!
If you’ve ever tried a food product that was produced in a small quantity and quality ensured by the artisans who made it, then you probably already know that there is no comparison. You simply won’t be able to buy the eccentric and pleasing flavors that Anarchy in a Jar offers anywhere else. The good news is that people are starting to realize how great their lineup of jam, jelly, marmalade and chutney taste and you can find them in select Whole Foods and other retailers. However, based on their delicious product, we suspect you will be seeing a lot more of them everywhere that food is sold! Check out www.AnarchyInAJar.com for more information or to order a treat for yourself!
I am a huge fan of concerts on film! Recently MVD informed me about a fantastic performance on DVD by the Carpenters. For those of you who think you don’t know who the Carpenters are, consider for a moment if you have herd any songs from the 70s, chances are if you have then you probably herd a song or two by them. It’s rare that my generation gets a glimpse into the past in such a way that not only shares the culture and styles of the time, but also shows the amount of talent that was prominent during the time period.
The DVD is filmed in Japan and not only gives you a front row seat to a Carpenters concert, but it also shows how they were a worldwide favorite during the 70’s! The performance is phenomenal and a must see for any fan of their music, and even those who have yet to hear of them. There is such a rich history behind the band and their music, and they have withstood the test of time. To purchase a copy for yourself, just check out MVD’s website or click here: Carpenters Live In 1972.
The Toast Pop stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,800 times in 2011. If it were a cable car, it would take about 30 trips to carry that many people.

You may or may not have heard about the new craze in pet fashion, KO Couture. This doggy clothing line was started in 2009 by a dog owner named Kelly Owens who was going through some hard times and desperately needed some creative outlet. She never imagined that just two years later her little hobby would take off earning her the title “pet fashion expert.”
The clothes and items carried by KO Couture are beautiful and great quality items ranging in price from $4 to $700 depending on the size of the item and the amount of detail. The clothes are both elegant and functional, and are guaranteed to make any pet feel like a superstar. The clothes are mainly created for dogs but judging by some of the pictures of the items, some can also be worn by cats or young children (mainly the hats).
KO Couture is definitely worth checking out, especially if you have a special canine in your life. The items can be bought on esty at www.kocouture.com/etsy. If you have any questions check out the f.a.q. at www.kocouture.com/faq.
If you have ever heard Ellie Goulding, you will automatically recognize her unique voice in her single ‘Lights’. Like her other songs, ‘Lights’ gives you a light, upbeat feeling. However, unlike her other songs, there is an interactive game to go along with the single. To go along with the free, bubbly feeling that comes with her song ‘Lights’ is a small game. It begins with the introduction, where the background is fading in, only black and white.
When her voice comes in, a light, similar to a shooting star appears. The longer you hold down your mouse, the faster the light travels. Moving your mouse also directs the light. When the chorus kicks in, the world of black and white turns to different colors. All along, the circles in the background bounce to the beat.
There is also a part when twitter usernames show up in the background. On the bottom ofthe loading page, there is an option to tweet about the site, and have your own show up in the interactive colorful world of ‘Lights’. After the first chorus, strips of color line along with the circles, leaving you in a world that’s even more colorful and bright. More thing happen as you progress through the song. The interactive game that goes along with ‘Lights’ fits very rightfully with the song. To experience this online pheromone simply visit lights.elliegoulding.com!
Have you been searching for something new and original to listen to lately? Does everything on the radio sound the same and leave you hanging? If you answered yes to the previous questions, don’t worry the search is over. Canadian electropop star Lights recently released her second album, Siberia, and the sound is bigger and better than before.
Even if you are not familiar with Lights, this album is a great way to get introduced to her unique sound. It begins with title track, Siberia, and it immediately sets the album up for success. Her vocals are light and almost ghost-like along with lyrics that will get stuck in your head (in a good way). Lights also incorporates dubstep on a few tracks. At first, I thought this would affect her soft vocals, but it adds an element of surprise. Siberia has several tracks that are worth mentioning; for example, Toes, Banner, And Counting…, and Peace Sign. Each of these songs has a good beat, powerful lyrics, and conveys an emotion.
Not all artists are lucky enough to produce an album that has something for everyone. This album is pop, electro, indie pop, dubstep, and it also features rap. I highly recommend purchasing Siberia on iTunes so you can experience it for yourself.
Are you looking for a frightening movie to delve into this Halloween? Well, Dream House cannot make the promise of scaring you, but it is a pretty good psychological thriller. I feel like this movie has been marketed the wrong way. It has been shown to the public in advertisements and trailers in the form of a scary movie that would be great for this time of year. While this will draw bigger crowds to the theater it does not really help the movie itself. I was expecting to be frightened and enjoy it as a Halloween movie, but instead I was presented with a thriller type movie.
The plot is interesting and surprisingly easy to follow, I have found that usually thriller type movies tend to lead you astray from the main plot, so in that aspect it was very accomplished. I liked how the entire movie was pretty interesting the whole way through. The characters were very well cast, and the resolution was clean and clear. As far as I am concerned this is a great movie to see, not so much if you are mainly focused on seeing a movie for the sole purpose of being scared.
