The Hunger Games: Safe & Sound

With the anticipation of The Hunger Games movies just months away everyone was excited to hear about a new single released from the soundtrack that features Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars! It was quite shocking to learn that Taylor Swift is going to be a part of the original motion picture soundtrack, but then again they do need amazing artist to assist the hopefully amazing movies that they have made to accompany the fans of the book series. As of now no other news about the soundtrack has been released, but you can buy this song on iTunes now! The new question that remains is who else will be on the whole oficial soundtrack once it is released? That is a question that only Lionsgate, and time can answer!

The Hunger Games Official 2012 Trailer Debut

Today is a monumental day for fans of The Hunger Games! The new and oficial trailer, the one that is actually a trailer, not the one where she is running around in the woods for a minute and a half, has premiered! We have watched it and we love it, and we hate it, but mostly love it. Of course it is not going to be how one envisions the movie in their head, but I am getting the vibe that the cast of characters is not portraying them as they were in the books, perhaps it’s just this commercial not effectively showing character types. Either way, this is the most exciting thing to happen for a long time and since I love the books I am sure the movie will not disappoint overall. For those of you who do not want to waste a few minutes searching for this trailer, we did all the work for you, so sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

On November 8, 2011 the long awaited Modern Warfare 3 is coming out for sales at many stores around the country. Being the third game in the Modern Warfare series it has a lot of hype, and expectation behind it. Some games don’t live up to that expectation but Infinity Ward never fails us. Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward are working on the game together in hopes that it will turn out great. Chart sells for the pre-orders of the game are around three million, which breaks a pre-ordering sell history.

The reviled locations in the game are United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Africa, India, Russia, and Czech Republic. The variety of areas you can visit in this game is wide and gives you a since of how the war is affecting the whole world. There is four main Act’s in Modern Warfare 3 and that is Black Tuesday, Mind the Gap, Hunter Killer, and Iron Lady. The Campaign isn’t very long though no Call of Duty game has a long story, it has an effective one. Price and “Soap”return to the third game of the series after being in both the original games.

There is 80 levels in prestige mode, new and removed perks, two new game types, there is 16 maps on the disc and there bringing back split screen multiplayer online. The two new game types are Kill Confirmed and Team Defender. Kill Confirmed is like Team Deathmatch and the objective of the game is to kill the enemy and collect his dog-tags. Ellie Goulding’s Lights Interactive Game

If you have ever heard Ellie Goulding, you will automatically recognize her unique voice in her single ‘Lights’. Like her other songs, ‘Lights’ gives you a light, upbeat feeling. However, unlike her other songs, there is an interactive game to go along with the single. To go along with the free, bubbly feeling that comes with her song ‘Lights’ is a small game. It begins with the introduction, where the background is fading in, only black and white.

When her voice comes in, a light, similar to a shooting star appears. The longer you hold down your mouse, the faster the light travels. Moving your mouse also directs the light. When the chorus kicks in, the world of black and white turns to different colors. All along, the circles in the background bounce to the beat.

There is also a part when twitter usernames show up in the background. On the bottom ofthe loading page, there is an option to tweet about the site, and have your own show up in the interactive colorful world of ‘Lights’. After the first chorus, strips of color line along with the circles, leaving you in a world that’s even more colorful and bright. More thing happen as you progress through the song. The interactive game that goes along with ‘Lights’ fits very rightfully with the song. Pottermore

When Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was published, I don’t think J.K. Rowling anticipated how popular it would be. Readers were introduced to a fantasy world that was full of adventure, friendship, and the ongoing conflict of good vs. evil. Her creation and our imaginations were brought to the big screen when Warner Brothers began filming the movies. Even though the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was released in 2007, fans still had the movies to look forward to. But with the last movie, the realization finally set in that this was our last time being with Harry. I’ll admit, I felt as if my childhood was finally ending. I had just turned eighteen and I was starting a new chapter of my life. When J.K. Rowling announced that she was starting a new project called Pottermore, I was thrilled.

Pottermore has been in production since 2009 and is currently only available to those who gained early access and they act as beta testers. I am fortunate enough to be one of the beta testers. The website will sell e-books as well as audio books to all seven of the Harry Potter books. That’s not all Pottermore will have for fans, J.K. Rowling is releasing more detailed information and back stories on the characters we have come to know and love. You go through each chapter and learn new things about the world of Harry Potter. Some highlights of the first book are getting your very own wand and getting sorted into one of the Houses at Hogwarts: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin. You also get to brew potions and attend Dueling Club. Much like the students at Hogwarts, you will be able to earn points and lose points for your house. Not all books are available at once to explore. There is also no set date to unlock the next book.  Pottermore is available to everyone sometime in October 2011.
