Carpenters In Performance 1972

I am a huge fan of concerts on film! Recently MVD informed me about a fantastic performance on DVD by the Carpenters. For those of you who think you don’t know who the Carpenters are, consider for a moment if you have heard any songs from the 70s, chances are if you have then you probably heard a song or two by them. It’s rare that my generation gets a glimpse into the past in such a way that not only shares the culture and styles of the time, but also shows the amount of talent that was prominent during the time period.

The DVD is filmed in Japan and not only gives you a front row seat to a Carpenters concert, but it also shows how they were a worldwide favorite during the 70’s! The performance is phenomenal and a must-see for any fan of their music, and even those who have yet to hear of them. There is such a rich history behind the band and their music, and they have withstood the test of time. The Hunger Games: Safe & Sound

With the anticipation of The Hunger Games movies just months away everyone was excited to hear about a new single released from the soundtrack that features Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars! It was quite shocking to learn that Taylor Swift is going to be a part of the original motion picture soundtrack, but then again they do need amazing artist to assist the hopefully amazing movies that they have made to accompany the fans of the book series. As of now no other news about the soundtrack has been released, but you can buy this song on iTunes now! The new question that remains is who else will be on the whole oficial soundtrack once it is released? That is a question that only Lionsgate, and time can answer!

The Hunger Games Official 2012 Trailer Debut

Today is a monumental day for fans of The Hunger Games! The new and official trailer, the one that is actually a trailer, not the one where she is running around in the woods for a minute and a half, has premiered! We have watched it and we love it, and we hate it, but mostly love it. Of course, it is not going to be how one envisions the movie in their head, but I am getting the vibe that the cast of characters is not portraying them as they were in the books, perhaps it’s just this commercial not effectively showing character types. Either way, this is the most exciting thing to happen for a long time and since I love the books I am sure the movie will not disappoint overall. For those of you who do not want to waste a few minutes searching for this trailer, we did all the work for you, so sit back, relax, and enjoy!

The Hunger Games Movie News

The Hunger Games, a book series by Suzanne Collins, has become very popular recently. This series includes the books The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. The series is set in the future and is pretty much about these kids who are randomly selected from their home districts to fight to the death in an arena. Now, since this book has become so popluar Lionsgate made it into a film.

Filming for the movie began in May in North Carolina. It was wrapped up in early September. The movie should be released in March but it hasn’t been said where Lionsgate will hold the premiere.

Only one additional movie has been confirmed so far. Catching Fire is to be released on November 22, 2013. The company has a deal that encompasses four movies even though there are only three books. However, this does not mean that four movies will be made.

This movie stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, Amanda Stenberg as Rue, Alexander Ludwig as Cato, and Lenny Kravitz as Cinna. There are eight movie posters out depicting these characters.

Fred 2: Night Of The Living Fred

Looking for a good movie to watch this Halloween season? Well, look no further. There are two groups of viewers out there, and there simply is no in between. The first group loves Fred and the second doesn’t care for his sense of humor. I fit into the first group, or at least I do for the Fred movies. I feel like there should be more movies like this, not in the aspect of how it is written or the storyboard, but more so relating to the style in which it is shot. It is very down to Earth and you get the feeling that this isn’t a very professional movie, it’s relatable! Before we go any further though, let me answer a few questions that you may have bouncing around in your Halloween excited head!

First, let me tell you that the part of Bertha is no longer played by Jennette McCurdy from the show iCarly. They have recase the part of Bertha for some unknown reason, but I don’t enjoy it when they switch out the roles of main characters. Second, the story is still very much like the first and you will notice elements that resemble the first Fred movie very closely. He still visits a shop where comedic humor is exchanged between him and the shop owners, Derf will appear for a moment in the movie just as he did in the first, and for those of you who don’t know, Derf is Freds imaginary opposite in regards to personality, and one last thing that you may want to know about is that this movie makes Fred seem more “unstable” than the first. While the wild imagination is a very important aspect to Fred, this movie takes it almost too far.

Overall, the movie is very entertaining and is definitely something that you will want to watch this Halloween season. It still has the same familiar humor of Fred that we have grown to love, a comical storyboard, and of course the wildly imaginative character of Fred. We recommend this movie as a good watch for this holiday season!

Dream House

Are you looking for a frightening movie to delve into this Halloween? Well, Dream House cannot make the promise of scaring you, but it is a pretty good psychological thriller. I feel like this movie has been marketed the wrong way. It has been shown to the public in advertisements and trailers in the form of a scary movie that would be great for this time of year. While this will draw bigger crowds to the theater it does not really help the movie itself. I was expecting to be frightened and enjoy it as a Halloween movie, but instead I was presented with a thriller type movie.

The plot is interesting and surprisingly easy to follow, I have found that usually thriller type movies tend to lead you astray from the main plot, so in that aspect it was very accomplished. I liked how the entire movie was pretty interesting the whole way through. The characters were very well cast, and the resolution was clean and clear. As far as I am concerned this is a great movie to see, not so much if you are mainly focused on seeing a movie for the sole purpose of being scared.
